WHY HYPNOTHERAPY?

As we go through life we face many challenges. School, work, relationships and other experiences all take their toll and sometimes they can leave a lasting mark. Generally, we are very good at looking after our bodies – if something is not right we see a doctor or go to hospital, but we have a tendency to neglect our mental health. Fortunately, we have our subconscious mind to look after us, but sometimes communication between our conscious mind and subconscious mind breaks down and the two get their wires crossed. This can result in the subconscious mind providing unhelpful resources like pain signals, fears, anxiety and depression that are not useful to us, and in fact worsen the emotional or physical pain that we experience.

There are different ways that we find to deal with these physical or emotional problems, for example we can ignore them and hope they go away, we can get medication from our doctor, or we can turn to things like drugs and alcohol to numb the pain we feel. But none of these options are going to help remove that emotional or physical pain permanently, so we can live a happy, fulfilling life. For emotional pain we could also seek counselling. Counsellors offer a vital service that helps people through difficult times and situations, but it is a long process, sometimes lasting many months, and it often opens old wounds because part of the process is having to talk things through with the counselor.

What if there was a way to quickly and painlessly deal with physical and emotional pain? A way to heal emotional wounds, remove addictions and phobias, relieve stress and anxiety or get rid of chronic pain without the need for medication or hours of talking? Well the good news is that there is! With hypnotherapy I can offer you a fast, effective way to remove that emotional or physical pain. This is often achieved with only one or two one hour sessions and with no need to go over old ground, opening those emotional wounds. Of course sometimes it is necessary to revisit the past in order to get closure, but even if these instances I can work content free, without having to open those old wounds, with your sub-conscious mind to remove your emotional pain forever.

WHY ME?

There are a few different styles of hypnotherapy. I practice solution focused hypnotherapy, using practical techniques for making positive change in the present that will go with you into the future, rather than dwelling on past issues. A lot of the work I do in trance is based around proven techniques of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), which you can think of as re-wiring the brain to change negative feelings, beliefs and thoughts into more productive, positive ones. Depending on what you need help with, I might also use other techniques such as Emotional Freedom Tapping (EFT) and Mindscaping, a relatively new but amazingly effective technique where I work with you to remove mental blocks that might be stopping from achieving your goals.

My rate is £50 per session. Some hypnotherapists will offer packages for a discounted rate, for instance 4 weight loss sessions or 5 quit smoking sessions, but I prefer not to offer these types of packages because everybody is different and while some people might need 5 sessions to reach their goals, others will only need 1 or 2. I don’t want to make you commit to sessions that you don’t need.

My sessions are held in my practice room in Core Therapies, Tontine Street, Folkestone. Core Therapies is a group of 11 complementary therapists, offering all sorts of services, including reiki, massage, shiatsu, aromatherapy, reflexology and of course hypnotherapy. I prefer not to visit clients in their home as I am unable to control the environment. The last thing I want is for unexpected noise or interruption to disturb your session.
